‘Non-reliance’ clauses examined

Because of the English law principle of “buyer beware”, it is standard practice in legal transactions for numerous enquiries to take place between the parties before any deal is done. This may be as part of the due diligence and there may also be marketing campaigns and replies to enquiries. Such statements, whether written or spoken, can give rise to a liability for misrepresentation where the information is not true or is misleading.

Two brave teams of rowers took part in the Weybridge Community Regatta organised by Weybridge Rowing Club. One of our boats consisted of relatively seasoned rowers whilst the other boat’s only real experience of being on the water was the odd ferry crossing or relaxing on a lilo on holiday.

Both teams stepped up to the challenge of the Regatta with the more experienced team winning their category in the 600m Time Trial which started off the day. The less experienced team came out of nowhere in the
afternoon heats and got through to the semi finals, proving that with a lot of enthusiasm.
